Anse Marcel is a sheltered cove at the far north of French Saint-Martin, hidden behind a steep hill and built around a marina and a couple of resorts. The beach is calm and protected, the setting is green and quiet, and there's essentially no village life. This is a place you choose on purpose to get away from everything, which is exactly its appeal and exactly its catch: you'll drive a winding hill road for every meal that isn't at your resort.
